Safety and security on public transit cannot wait. Transit riders and workers have the right to be safe, and to feel safe. Marco D’Angelo, President & CEO of CUTA, joined CBC today to discuss rising safety concerns on transit systems across Canada, highlighting how social pressures, housing affordability, and post-pandemic challenges are impacting riders, and emphasizing the urgent need for federal support to maintain safe, reliable, and accessible transit nationwide. Earlier this year, CUTA released the first documentary of its kind exploring transit safety through the eyes of frontline workers, the people who experience and respond to these issues every day.
