  • “Calgary Transit is considering upgrades to the technology used for recording, tracking and managing transit incidents such as breakdowns, disruptions and safety or security issues. We are interested in learning from agencies that have implemented integrated incident management systems that provide a shared platform for tracking, updating, sharing information and monitoring incident response within the transit agency and with external groups such as Emergency Services.

    If you have experience with integrated incident management systems, please reach out to me at harold.beatty@calgary.ca.

    Here are some examples of the information we are looking for.

    · What technology system(s) are used to record and track incidents that are reported to your operations control centre (OCC)?

    · Does your agency use an integrated incident management system across different functions within the OCC?

    · Does the incident management system extend to groups outside of the OCC, such as Field Supervisors or Emergency Services?

    · Does your agency follow any specific industry standards for incident classification and reporting?

    · Does your agency provide Incident Command System (ICS) training to Transit Control Centre employees?

    · Does your agency use an all-hazards or hazard-specific approach to incident management?”
