“Hi Jon, thanks for kicking this off!

A lot of cities are trying to make the most of their budgets by using data – some even leveraging AI – to optimize routes and predict demand more accurately. I’ve also seen transit-oriented housing developments help fund system expansions while improving accessibility. Curious if anyone here has experience with those and how they’re working out?

On-demand and microtransit are making a difference in smaller and rural communities where fixed routes aren’t practical. An out-of-province example that comes to mind is the partnership that Uber had with Innisfil, Ontario. It was a creative approach to rural transit, but the program has since ended. Would love to hear what others think about scaling these kinds of models!

    Looking forward to everyone’s thoughts.”
