“Here at Winnipeg Transit we’re doing a bit of background research into how other transit systems in Canada handle wayfinding and passenger information.

Do any of you have wayfinding and passenger information specialists who not only design the signage, infographics, info packages, etc…, but also play a key role in figuring what information passengers need, and what the best way is to convey it to them?”

    “Hi everyone, interesting discussion!
Even with the temporary pause, the uncertainty around tariffs is definitely something to watch. If they move forward, one of the biggest impacts on transit could be higher costs for vehicle procurement, parts, and infrastructure projects. With many Canadian agencies sourcing buses, rail components, and other equipment from U.S. manufacturers, price increases or supply chain disruptions could make it harder to expand or maintain fleets.

    Looking forward to the discussion!”

Hi Bjorn, I’m a Wayfinding Planner at TransLink in BC. We have a three person wayfinding team including myself, a senior advisor, and a graphic designer. We do customer journey mapping, maintain our system-wide wayfinding standards, and design all of our signage and maps across the system. Would be happy to chat further, feel free to send me an email if you want to set something up. kyle.monda@translink.ca
